Autumn Style – Inspired by Nigeria’s Independence Day

img_5062Today is Nigeria’s independence day and even though the current state of the country leaves a bad taste in the mouth, it is still home, it is still roots and so we gats to celebrate her! I am really sorry this post is coming a bit late , my sincere apologies, I dont know how the thought to do a shoot for this memorable day skipped my mind. I blame it on mum brain (sticks tongue out). img_5047 img_5048

Anyhoo, as they say, better late then never and so I quickly rummaged through my wardrobe for something green and autumnal, I stumbled upon this one and the half material Oleku, my wasteful tailor couldn’t make a decent Oleku and wrapper from three yards, my sister’s tailor could so dont even come for me. I picked it out, paired it with my much loved OTK boots from Kurt Geiger and voila! Celebrating Naija’s Independence day in style.

PS – Naija’s colors are green and white, so a combo of the Ankara and my white braids and yeah, what do you guys think? Ahem! Am I serving poses or whaaa? Lol.
