Bumpstyle recap on the blog

Hi guys! Hope you cool. Christmas is so in the air, can you smell it? I have just mapped the domain name mirrorofstyle to my former blog fashionati on wordpress. In the process I lost some contents so I thought I would just do a recap of the latest in my life before I proceed on to a new post. The latest as some of you may already know or not is all about my bump and how I try to style it as best as I can. Not really easy I assure you but I discovered a new trick which I would share with you in my upcoming post. Stay tuned! Continue reading Bumpstyle recap on the blog

Winter Style featuring Men's Panerai watch

I am a huge fan of men’s inspired wrist watches, so when I got introduced to Invaluable.co.uk, one of the worlds biggest online auction site, I was immediately drawn to the jewellery section and of course, the men’s designer watches. You really need to check out this site if you have a thing for designer watches or jewellery. My style lately is very relaxed so naturally I was drawn to the Blue strap Panerai watch . I see it working flawlessly with denim, leather , leggings  even dresses for that laid back yet chic look like in the lookbook above. All items from the lookbook are listed below

Karen Millen Camel coat here, Karen Millen Patchwork boyfriend jeans here, Zara Sweater here, Zara pump here, Victoria Beckham shades here, Zac zac Posen bag here .

Throw Back Thursday – Black , White and Gold

Hi everyone, hope you are great, in the spirit of throw back, I am going to be posting some of my old post on here. This was taken sometime in January this year. I really hope after the baby, I will be able to get back to this.  Continue reading Throw Back Thursday – Black , White and Gold

What I wore – Linen Jogging pants

As I type this right now, I am in serious physical pain. I think I must have sprained my Femur bone,  the bone where the thigh meets the hip joints during a work out. Actually after I saw my bulging tummy ala the purple dress here. I decided to do something about it and so I hit YouTube for abs firming and muffins burning exercise routine. While at it, I stumbled upon this thigh firming routine and I figured I should add it to my workout regimen also. Continue reading What I wore – Linen Jogging pants

What I wore – Shades of Green

Hi guys, hope you are cool, Its another week already, Can you believe that November is almost ended and December is just a few days away? This year really flew by. I am just so grateful to God for his mercies so far and by his grace, he will see us through the remainder month and into the new year (cant believe I just said the new year, sounds really surreal, 2013 was just yesterday now).

Usually as the year draws to an end, its a time of sober reflections for me, was I able to achieve my set goals for the year? How well did I fare with my resolutions? Continue reading What I wore – Shades of Green

What I wore – Purple Jumpsuit

Oh yes I did! I swept Lagos clean with my pants. Seriously I don’t think this jumpsuit would look half as nice with the length shortened though I would wear with a longer heeled shoe next time. I was too obsessed with matching the gold captoe of the shoes to my accessories to think of functionality. Anyway thankfully I went from Cab to the venue of the wedding reception, venue to cab and cab to home, so No I didn’t sweep Lagos clean yet. This question of functionality over aesthetics brings to mind a conversation I had with my sister this morning.

She had a wedding to attend and after we had set out what she was going to wear to stun the hell at that wedding yesterday, I left her and went off to a beach party. I came home only to find that she ditched the shoes – a multicolored sequinned shoe I picked specifically to create the wow factor for her chosen outfit – a black jumpsuit, for a plain black shoe she claimed was functional aka very comfortable. I was mad ofcourse, she had ruined everything, lol.

When it boils down to choice, aesthetics vs functionality, what do you go for? I am sure you already know my answer. Continue reading What I wore – Purple Jumpsuit

Forest Green

I broke down on my resolve not to buy anything new till the end of the year with this lovely forest green shift dress. Seriously who wouldn’t? And at the rate I got, I would be an obvious fool to let it go. It was an absolute steal.  I spied the beauty along Obalende way on my way home  from an interview for a Job I didn’t get eventually anyway this beauty was hanging in one of those makeshift roadside secondhand shops, my trained eye instantly saw this beauty for what its worth. What I wore – Embellished two piece skirt and top

Sometimes all you think of while putting a look together is comfort over . I was in that frame of mind this day hence the wedge heels. They are so comfortable, I wore them throughout the day without the need for that extra pair of flats. The matchy-matchy or rather co-ord trend is major right now, I decided to jump on board. I had the suit made by my tailor, it was a remainder from one of my Aso-ebi piece. I loved the embellished floral prints on this material and so decided to put it to good use. This is the first time I am trying out the crop top trend so baby cropping, just a lil skin when I move in certain ways :D, trust you do get the general idea. My Traditional Wedding

Excuse the loads and loads of pictures. They were so much more than this and I had to edit a whole lot out but somehow I was still left with a whole lot of them. For those of you who didn’t know already, I got married traditionally this month, Oct 4th to be precise. Its such a sweet feeling I tell you, that feeling of oneness with someone, the warmth, the care, the love and ofcourse now you can “love up” whenever, anytime without fear or worries or remorse, you know what I am talking about (wink wink).  I was so happy this day, but then I am sure you can already see this from the all of my huge grins I couldn’t get off my face in the photos.  Continue reading My Traditional Wedding

What I wore – Oleku

In all honesty, I never intended for my Oleku to be this short. This is all my tailor’s fault. I mean this is a good three yards of material and my tailor could barely whip out a good wrapper out of it. I didn’t realize until my sister pointed it out to me that my tailor is completely wasteful with materials, you go to his workshop and half of your material is lying in his bin as waste. This is very disheartening to me as I dislike waste of any sort but then (sad face) its so hard to find a good and affordable tailor and so I am staying put.IMG_0841

Another confession, this is the very first time in my fashionista fashionati fashion conscious adult life I am tying a wrapper of any sort so I do hope I fared well. I didnt bother with gele, I am totally hopeless with that, I couldn’t tie a good gele even if there was  a million dollar bet placed on it. I just cant and I blame my mother and sister for this, growing up, my every attempt at tying the gele only gets them bursting into laughter after which they advise me , for my own good not to walk out the door in whatever it is I got on my head …sigh… . You do get the general picture now I hope? Continue reading What I wore – Oleku
